SUPERVISOR’S REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING OCTOBER 29, 2021
I start this week’s report reminding everyone that Election Day is this coming Tuesday November 2nd. The Wilmington polls are located at the Community Center and are open from 6 am to 9 pm. Please remember to thank the Election inspectors for their long day of service. Also, do not forget to turn your paper ballot over after voting for the local races. There are 5 New York State Propositions to weigh in on. The November monthly meeting of the Wilmington Town Board will be held on Thursday November 4th at 7pm. A Public Hearing on the 2022 town budget will kick off the process followed by other business of the town. As always, the public is welcome to attend.
Just a heads up that our Parks Department will start making the transition from fall to Holiday decorations around our community beginning in November. Like everyone else, we do not like to rush the Holidays. However, there are a lot of decorations to put up and it‘s just in time for Santa‘s Workshops Yuletide Weekends.
Work continues on the Town’s new website. Thanks to ROOST, Above Social and Nicole Forbes we should have a new site by the end of the year. It is our continued hope that all things Wilmington will be on the new site including my weekly report. Stay tuned for more information on this exciting project.
There will be a Business After Hours event presented by the Whiteface Regional Visitors Bureau at the Mountain Valley Federal Credit Union in the Little Super Market complex on November 17th from 5 to 7 pm. This is a great way to social network. Please call 518 946–2255 for more information.
In other news, the town is in the process of working out the logistics of registering all Short Term Rentals within the Town of Wilmington. With the enactment of the new regulations on Short Term Rentals, all vacation rentals will be required to register with the town. We will keep you updated on this issue.
That’s all for this week my friends. See you around town.
