SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR THANKSGIVING WEEK 2021
On behalf of the Town of Wilmington “Team”, we want to wish everyone in our community a Happy Thanksgiving! We sure do have much to be thankful for living here in Wilmington and the Adirondacks.
I am excited to share one of the gifts that will be included in our Christmas stocking and goody bag this year as part of our town’s Community Christmas Celebration. It is a metal holiday ornament that is the perfect keepsake. This special gift even has the Wilmington Logo inscribed on it. Remember, the Christmas Celebration and Fireworks will be held on Friday December 10th. We are now actively working on preparing Santa’s delivery list and parade floats. If you would like more information, please contact the town offices at 518 946–7174
As the holidays are upon us, please remember if you know of any children that are in need this Christmas Season, please feel free to reach out to the Supervisors Office for assistance. There is a wide variety of programs that help with these types of situations. All information is kept confidential and we are happy to help.
Just a reminder that the Town Landfill and Courts will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. Our landfill will reopen on Saturday November 27th, Town Offices will be closed on Thanksgiving and Friday this week. We will reopen on Monday November 29th
Small Business Saturday kicks off on November 27th. Many local area businesses have made great attempts to place merchandise in their stores on sale. What a great way to keep your money local and help small businesses.
A copy of the updated Whiteface Mountain Unit Management is available for review at the Town Clerk’s Office. Stop in to check it out.
We have started working on our town skating rink. As part of preparing, we are also making an appeal to anyone that has skates they would like to donate. The town makes the skates available for free to anyone that can use them while at our rink.
Well friends, that’s all for this week. See you around town. –Roy Holzer
