Hello Wilmington! After a week off and spending the time in the sunny and warm south, I am back at it. I absolutely love getting away from time to time. There are many reasons for this. The first is an internal recharging of my batteries and mind set. The second is that traveling other places makes me realize how lucky we are living in the Adirondacks and Wilmington. One gains a new appreciation of small town life.
Speaking of small town life, we are seeking a few volunteers to assist with the towns “Youth Easter Event”. This year we will be doing a photo shoot with the Easter Bunny at the town park building on Saturday April 16th from 11 am to 1 pm.
All Wilmington Youth will have the opportunity to have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny with a very special Easter back drop. A free goody bag will also be handed out. For more information, please contact my office at 518-946-7179
Traveling around Wilmington you may have noticed the seasonal banners being placed around town. With this being our Bicentennial year, our special birthday pendants are also added to the mix. Sponsorship of banners are still available. A special shout out to the parks department for coordinating the spring endeavor.
Congratulations to the Whiteface Visitors Bureau, Michelle Preston and everyone that participated in the Hometown Hero Banners project. 53 banners will soon grace our community honoring past and present Veterans of Wilmington that serve our Nation.
Finally, a reminder that we still have FREE COVID test kits at the town offices as well as sanitize and disposable facemasks.
That’s all for this week my friends. See you around town. –Roy Holzer
