SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 3/8/2024 

Hey everyone– 

I saw some Robins yesterday in the yard. Really. A few weeks ago, I thought I heard some, but that was still February. 

Remember that Day Light Savings begins this weekend. I still have some clocks that need adjusting, but I find getting myself adjusted more of a challenge. 

Town Board Meeting 

The Town Board will have its regular meeting on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 7:00 pm at the Community Center. The agenda will be posted on the town website and at the regular locations around town, but two items on the agenda are review the draft local law that amends the short–term rentals and further discussion about the bike program Laura 

introduced. 

Visitors 

I met with two state officials this week when they visited the Community 

Center. 

On Tuesday, the executive director of the APA, Barbara Rice, stopped by and outlined some ideas of the APA to help Wilmington (and other small towns in the park) with those grants NYS has recently announced. All business with NYS takes place online and while we may be getting used to doing everything online, being able to talk to someone can be reassuring too. Especially when it is a person who knows more and wants to help. 

Thanks also to Senator Stec for yesterday’s visit to the Community Center. For someone new to the job, knowing where to call with questions or for help is often the first challenge. By stopping by, Senator Stec broke the ice, and it is very much appreciated.
