SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 6-28-24
What a day!

THE BEACH OPENS TOMORROW
We are very lucky to have a great beach and equally lucky to have had enough lifeguard applicants this
year to expand the number of days open. In fact, Wilmington plans on having its beach open 7 days a
week, until September 2nd.

The lifeguards met today for an orientation (though some had already worked at our beach before) and
the beach will be ready for tomorrow.

The general schedule is 10 AM to 5 pm. As the summer heats up, the hours may flex to allow the beach
to stay open until 6 or sometimes later when the summer music concerts begin.

There will also be boat rentals again this year.

Thanks to everyone—all the lifeguards, boat rental people, Nicole, John, Ashton, Brooke and Charlie T.
for getting the beach and lifeguards ready and look forward to the summer.

YOUTH PROGRAM
That looks nearly ready for a good and fun summer. The want ads were answered, and the program has
two excellent counselors for the summer. The youth center is being made ready and I understand the
program starts July 11th. It will run Thursdays and Fridays until August 16th. Please contact
wilmingtonyouthcen@gmail.com for more information.

DOGS AND LICENSES
This is a gentle reminder to please license your dog. It costs $10 for spayed/neutered and $20 for
unspayed/unneutered. Applications can be found at https://www.townofwilmington.org/town-clerk/
where one will see “Dog Licensing Application” under Legal Postings.

Maybe a good number of dogs seen about town are “visitors”, but if they want to reside here, and don't
already have one, their owners should contact Dawn at the Community Center to get the right license.

Enjoy the weekend!
