SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 10-4-24
Welcome to October!
Today may be the actual peak for colors and the weather has been
spectacular for the past week. I have not seen a hard frost at our place
and am starting to wonder at it. One more mow, at least.
SPRUCING UP THE COMMUNITY CENTER
With all this nice weather, the Parks team has had a good chance to
work on the Community Center—replacing rotten railroad ties,
staining/painting, new flashing where it is obviously needed. With any
luck they may have another week or ten days to continue the sprucing
up. My old rule of thumb was– we (or at least the Memorial Highway)
got our first snow by October 14—my grandmother’s birthday. Not so
sure about that anymore, but I do know it can change quickly in any
case.
PUBLIC HEARING AND REGULAR BOARD MEETING NEXT WEEK
A public hearing will be held at 6:45 pm, Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at
the Community Center on the proposed local law to regulate the hours
of construction and logging inside Wilmington.
This will be followed by the regular meeting of the Town Board.
The agenda will be posted on the town’s website.
As many know, my mother passed away suddenly, and I would like to

thank everyone who reached out with their condolences. Very much
appreciated.
