SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 10-21-2022 Greetings Everyone. As I write this report there are many projects being worked on by our Town Crews and Contractors. On the Highway side, the repairs to the Highway Garage continue with the roof structure being almost completed. We are pretty excited about this. Especially with the cold weather approaching. Once all repairs and upgrades are completed we will do an Open House so residents can see the facility first hand. Our Parks Department continues to stay busy with seasonal banners being removed around town and preparing for our yearly Christmas Decorations. In addition, improvements [...]

SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING OCTOBER 14, 2022 Hello everyone. I start off this week’s report advising the community that there will be no candidates listed on the November ballot for Town Justice. This means that anyone interested in seeking the four year position must campaign and have people write their name correctly by the Town Justice slot on the ballot. Judge Selkirk recently announced that he will not seek reelection. Because he never filed a nominating petition for the fall election in time, he was planning on a write in campaign himself. No one else filed a nominating petition either. [...]

SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 9-30-2022 Hard to believe that we are days away from October. The fall temperatures are making most take notice of what’s around the corner. However before we get to the next season, everyone should take advantage of the Octoberfest Event at Whiteface Mountain Ski Center this weekend. Everything from German Food, Music and Dancing are just some of the fun. The gates at Whiteface are open both Saturday & Sunday starting at 11am. For more information, checkout WHITEFACE.COM As most are aware, a group of dedicated friends from the Historical Society worked countless hours on our [...]

SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 9-23-2022 Hello Friends. Hopefully by now everyone has received a copy of the Town Newsletter. Within the pages of the publication is the Annual Drinking Water Report for 2021. As a Water District we are required to make the report public. The water report itself is always for the previous year and is generated by the New York State Department of Health. The newsletter and report can also be found on the town website at www.townofwilmington.org A very special “Thank You” to everyone that attended the Bicentennial Time Capsule Dedication Ceremony last Saturday. The event was [...]

SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 9-16-2022 Starting off this week’s report, I would like to write about something that is more of a reminder. That is the amount of Deer in our area this year. I am not sure if it is just me. However, I have seen a lot more deer on the sides of our area roads. These critters seem to have no fright of jumping into traffic and such. In fact, our own Town Clerk Dawn Stevens had damage to her car back in July from one of these fearless animals. Months later she still awaits repair of [...]

SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING SEPTEMBER 9, 2022 Over this last year as we celebrated the Town of Wilmington’s 200th anniversary, there have been many events and projects that have commemorated our Bicentennial milestone. Although we have focused on history, I am excited to acknowledge our future. On August 26, 2022, at 4:19 am the first baby to be born within the town of Wilmington in years if not decades, drew her first breath. Gracelyn Mary Bruce was born at the home of her parents Eric and Trisha Bruce on Springfield Road that early morning of August. Weighing in at 7 [...]
