SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 5-13-2022

SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 5-13-2022 We are happy to report that the splash boards on the town dam are now up and Lake Everest water levels have risen to more acceptable levels. Our water way is just a little better. Although I think most would agree that a sediment removal program is needed to restore our water way to its former glory. Just think of the amount of water the Wilmington Community Dam held back when it was reconstructed in 1937. The restrooms at the town beach are now set for the season. We will be doing some repairs on [...]

SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING April 15, 2022 Greetings! Hope everyone is looking forward to the warmer temperatures and what our spring will bring.  Spring is one of my favorite times of the year. Many events and projects to get completed. Oh, the “challenge” of it all. For the Town of Wilmington, our next event is the Easter Bunny Photo shoot held at the park building this Saturday April 16th from 11 am to 1 pm. Photos with the Easter Bunny and goody bags will be given out. This FREE event is open to all Wilmington youth. However, the reality is [...]

SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING APRIL 1, 2022

Hello Wilmington!  After a week off and spending the time in the sunny and warm south, I am back at it. I absolutely love getting away from time to time. There are many reasons for this. The first is an internal recharging of my batteries and mind set. The second is that traveling other places makes me realize how lucky we are living in the Adirondacks and Wilmington. One gains a new appreciation of small town life. Speaking of small town life, we are seeking a few volunteers to assist with the towns “Youth Easter Event”.  This year we will be [...]

Hello everyone and thanks for reading another report on some things “Wilmington”.  I start off this week announcing that our Bicentennial Lapel Pins have arrived. They are on sale for a donation of $2.00 each.  The cost of the pins will offset the production expense and help raise additional funds for other Bicentennial activities.   The Commemorative Lapel Pins are really sharp looking and will make a unique keepsake. One can get the pins at the Town Offices, Visitors Bureau and Bicentennial events. Speaking of Bicentennial activities, plans are currently underway to join the organizers of the Wilmington Get Together Event [...]

SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 3/4/2022 Hello everyone. Yes, we are now in the month of March!  As the days begin to be brighter, we all start to look forward to the spring season. Well, most of us anyways. {{haha}} One event I always look forward to is the Whiteface Visitors Bureau Wilmington Community Dinner where we welcome new residents to our community. This year’s event is tentatively set for April 5th at the Hungry Trout. Another highlight of the evening is the awarding of Wilmington’s Citizen of the year. For over 35 years this special award has been given to [...]

SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 2/25/2022

2022-02-25T14:34:57+00:00February 25th, 2022|

Hello Wilmington! As Town Supervisor, I start this week’s report with a Very Happy Birthday wish to Wilmington resident Andrew Cavallero who turned 90 on Thursday February 24th. In typical Wilmington fashion, our town crew partnered with the Fire Department, Essex County Sheriff’s Department, Emergency Services and New York State Police to do a brief vehicle drive to celebrate Andy’s Birthday. Collaborating with his family, we had our honored citizen outside his home to view the entourage of well-wishers. His 60 plus years as a town resident and his years of dedicated service as a New York State Trooper and BCI [...]

SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 2/18/2022

2022-02-25T14:33:07+00:00February 25th, 2022|

Greetings! Due to some scheduling issues, My report is a little early this time.  In this week’s report I want to write about a resolution that I brought up at the Essex County Board of Supervisors Department of Public Works committee meeting this past week. The resolution, approved by all Town Supervisors in attendance, deals with the soaring gasoline prices and gives relief to the working folks in our region. The resolution specifically calls upon the New York State and Federal Government to impose a 90 day moratorium of all fuel and sales tax on gasoline.  Most people do not realize [...]
