Hello Wilmington! As Town Supervisor, I start this week’s report with a Very Happy Birthday wish to Wilmington resident Andrew Cavallero who turned 90 on Thursday February 24th. In typical Wilmington fashion, our town crew partnered with the Fire Department, Essex County Sheriff’s Department, Emergency Services and New York State Police to do a brief vehicle drive to celebrate Andy’s Birthday. Greetings! Due to some scheduling issues, My report is a little early this time.  In this week’s report I want to write about a resolution that I brought up at the Essex County Board of Supervisors Department of Public Works committee meeting this past week. The resolution, approved by all Town Supervisors in attendance, deals with the soaring gasoline prices and gives relief to the working folks in our region. Hello everyone! I want to start off this week's report giving an update of our potential Wilmington Homestead Housing project. As some may be aware, we recently completed a Preliminary Site Evaluation on what  could be our very first local housing location. The professional evaluation was paid for by a New York State Grant. Our next phase is to have a Jurisdictional Inquiry Form completed for the APA. This is now completed and we appear to be in pretty good shape. Greetings! I want to thank everyone that called into our 2022 Organizational Meeting of the Wilmington Town Board this week. The decision to discourage physical attendance was due to the fact we have had many active COVID cases in our community. Consistent with the virus, some of our residents only have mild symptoms while others were really sick. I start off this week's report with a reminder that we have FREE facemasks and Hand Sanitizer available at the Town Offices for our residents. We also just received a limited supply of other masks as well. We did receive a very small supply of COVID 19 Antigen Rapid Test Kits. Those test kits are not as readily available. However, we are told more are being shipped from the state.  Happy to report that the skating rink is back in operation. Remember, the park building is open Thursday through Sunday until 7 pm. Starting out with this week's report, I want to send a huge shout out and thanks to the many volunteers that made our Community Christmas Celebration so successful. My sincere thanks to the Celebration committee, Nicole Forbes, Michelle Preston,  John Langford and Louie Adragna.
