SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 7/15/2022 Welcome to mid-July. WOW! If you are like me, you haven’t even had a lazy day of summer yet. As I get older, I long for lazy days. ((haha)) they just never seem to happen. Maybe there is still hope before our summer is over. In this week’s report, I start out with a little reminder that COVID test kits, hand sanitizer and disposable face masks are available for free at the town offices. A new variant of COVID is making its way around our area. I know because it got me. If you suspect [...]

SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 7/8/2022 Hi everyone! As I prepare this report, it is amazing to me how quickly this year is flying by. As a youth, summer and the adventures one would go on seemed endless. As an adult the reality of how quickly time passes is always on our minds. The massive list of things to do becomes a challenge getting everything accomplished. In town government, we have our list as well. Our Water Superintendent Ed Orsi has almost completed the seasonal flushing of water hydrants. This is a very import function. The task becomes a preventive measure [...]

SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 5-20-2022 What an interesting week! The lore of “Friday the 13 th ” will always have that special memory for the damage that was done to our roof of the Highway garage. Although we have not yet received the cause in writing, we are told that the cause was a microburst and wind event that raised havoc on our 45 year old building. Based on advice from legal counsel, I am declaring a “State of Emergency” in regards to the incident that occurred at the town highway garage on Friday May 13, 2022 Because of the [...]

SPECIAL REPORT FROM THE TOWN OF WILMINGTON Please be advised yesterday afternoon around 3:45pm, Highway Superintendent Louie Adragna received a call from our security monitoring service that something was wrong at the Highway Building. The incident has been submitted to our insurance [...]

SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 5-13-2022 We are happy to report that the splash boards on the town dam are now up and Lake Everest water levels have risen to more acceptable levels. Our water way is just a little better. Although I think most would agree that a sediment removal program is needed to restore our water way to its former glory. Just think of the amount of water the Wilmington Community Dam held back when it was reconstructed in 1937. The restrooms at the town beach are now set for the season. We will be doing some repairs on [...]
