Starting today, March 6th, the DOT is installing temporary signals on Route 73 between Chapel Pond and Roaring Brook falls for emergency slope repairs. The signals will be there 24-7 for an estimated 3 weeks. The road will not be closed. It will be open to one-way alternating traffic.

SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 3/1/2024 Greetings: Short report this week. Wind Storms Thanks to the Highway and Parks Department for the clean up after that wild wind the other night. When the forecast shows temperatures dropping from 50 degrees to single digits, the wind will be big. Thought the roof was going to come off our house. Spring Planning Large March snowstorms are somewhat common, so winter isn't over yet. But the board is thinking spring and summer. The Town of Keene's recent Energy Benchmarking Report produced as part of Keene's ongoing participation in the NYSERDA Clean Energy Community Program is attached for public review. Benchmarking Report (pdf) Details from NYSERDA: Communities that complete at least four high-impact actions earn initial Clean Energy Communities designation and are eligible to apply for grants to fund additional clean energy projects. Earn points for high-impact actions your community completes. Once your community earns a certain number of points, it becomes eligible for 1 to 5-Star Designations and larger grant awards. The first cycle of Community Enhancement Fund awards is about to start. If you have a project or program that may fit the goals of this grant, please consider applying. We also need 2-3 community members to serve on the award committee. If you are interested in serving on the award committee, please send a letter of interest to the town hall.
