Starting out with this week’s report, I want to send a huge shout out and thanks to the many volunteers that made our Community Christmas Celebration so successful. My sincere thanks to the Celebration committee, Nicole Forbes, Michelle Preston,
John Langford and Louie Adragna. The Town Staff and our Volunteer Fire Department along with area EMS for being part of the Santa Entourage. | apologize if I forgot anyone because the event was truly a group effort. The sense of “Community” was alive and well in our little town last week.
We are forming a Christmas Celebration Facebook photo album on our town page, so if you have a favorite pic from the gift parade, fireworks or other special pictures, please message us with your pic and we will include them in our album.
Your Town offices will be on Holiday Schedule next week. Offices on Monday through Thursday will only be open until noon. Friday Christmas eve we will be closed. The Town Landfill will be closed on Saturday Christmas Day.
As I stated last week, if anyone knows of any families with Children in need of Christmas Gifts or other things to make their Holiday more complete, please contact the Supervisors Office. All referrals will be handled with care and confidentiality.
The Church of the Nazarene here in town has a large selection of FREE gloves, hats, boots and almost any winter item to keep one warm. Contact Pastor Grace Govenettio for more information.
Please remember that the Jay–Wilmington Food Pantry remains available to those that need a little extra help. The pantry is packed with all kinds of nutritional items. Feel free to stop by on Thursdays from 4 to 6 pm. Special arrangements can be made by calling Don Morrison at 518–946– 7192
The Town of Wilmington still has a limited quantity of hand sanitizer and face masks available at the Town Offices free for town residents.
Just a little “Heads – Up” that there is another wind advisory in effect for the next few days. Normally not a big deal. However, with all the damage from last week, it’s always a good idea to be prepared. That‘s all for this week my friends. Stay safe & see you around town. –Roy
