SUPERVISOR’S REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 2/2/2024 

Greetings- 

Thanks to all for helping with my first month as supervisor. The learning curve would have been steeper without the help and patience of the department heads, town employees and other town supervisors. 

More calendar information. The weather has not been helpful for skating, or much winter fun, except for helping conserve the amount of firewood. 

Public Meetings 

There is a special meeting called for February 6, 2024, at 5:00 pm to discuss the changes to the Short–Term Rental law proposed by the committee who worked on this last year. The board will go over and discuss the specific proposed changes, amongst themselves and with any committee members who are there. 

I will do my best to keep the meeting focused and professional and will go over the format of the meeting at its beginning. Because there is a planning board meeting scheduled for 7:00 pm that evening, the meeting will end at 6:45pm. 

The regular town board meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 7:00 pm and the work session is scheduled for February 29, 2024 at 4:00 pm. 

Update on Homestead Housing 

This project is continuing down the path that Roy had started. I am being brought up to speed and will meet next week with Adirondack Roots and Roy to push this project forward. Additionally, NYS has started initiatives for funding small rental developments with grant applications due early April. I have registered for an informational session next week to learn more. I want to learn quickly so Wilmington does not miss these opportunities and will keep the community posted.
