SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 3/17/2023

What a week! Typical March Madness weather. Our Town Crew did an
amazing job keeping up with conditions. A sincere Thank You goes out
to all our town forces for their efforts.
Because Essex County was under a “State Of Emergency” and we lost
electric power, our March meeting of the Town Board had to be
postponed to Tuesday March 21 st at 7pm. An Agenda is on our
Facebook page and on the Bulletin Board at the Post Office.
With power outages, always call NYSEG to report. Many times people
believe “someone else” must have reported it. On some occasions, this
is not the case. In addition, after you report the outage, feel free to
reach out to my office. When it comes to electricity, I have no issue
using whatever contacts I have to work with you and the power
company to restore service.
Please remember we maintain an active list of Essex County Job
openings at the Town Offices. Currently there are almost 50 openings
with our county government. If looking for a job, this could be a great
start of possibilities. Also available at the Town Offices are COVID test
kits. If you are having symptoms, we just ask you call first and we will
place kits outside for you. Finally, we still have gallons of Hand Sanitizer
FREE for town residents. Just stop by.
Looking for things to do in the near future? The Au Sable Valley Drama
Club will be performing the play “GREASE” Show dates start March 16 th
and end on the 19 th . To order tickets, please go to
https://avcs.seatyourself.biz or check out their Facebook page.
The Lake Placid Class of 2024 will be sponsoring a CRAFT FAIR on
Saturday March 25th from 10 am to 2 pm in the Lake Placid High School
Gym. Admission is $2. And children 10 and under are free. Please email
rthomsen@lakeplacidcsd.net for more information.
Did you know that we have two NOTARY PUBLIC officials at our town
offices? Town Clerk Dawn Stevens and Senior Account Clerk Nicole
Forbes are both certified and available to assist residents with any
official signature required documents.
As many are aware, our official website is www.townofwilmington.org
we have worked hard to keep items on this website current. If you have
not looked at it, please check it out.
Well folks that is all for this week. See you around town. –Roy Holzer
