SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 7/22/22
Greetings! Hope everyone has had a great week and staying cool in this
little heat wave we have been experiencing. Personally, I will take it.
I start off with a reminder that this Sunday July 24 th is the Ironman
Triathlon. Many places around town are either closed or have reduced
hours. As in the past, several roads in the area are closed for part of the
day. Please note that the town beach swim area will also be closed.
For more Ironman information, please contact
www.community.cqi@ironman.com or call 615-996-0022
We are currently seeking Volunteers for the First Annual Wilmington
Mountain Music Fest 2022. The event takes place at the Wilmington
Town Park on July 30 th . We can use your help for even a couple hours.
Please contact Michelle at the Visitors Bureau at 518-946-2255 to sign
up.
I want to give a big “Thank You” to all that contributed to our summer
concert series at the Town Beach. You rock!
On August 10 th Essex County will be holding a Tax Foreclosure Real
Estate Auction. Interested parties can either attend at the Best
Western Plus in Ticonderoga or live with online bidding. Auction starts
at 10am. For more information, one can call 1-800-243-0061
I just wanted to let everyone know that I remain committed to the Park
Pavilion project. However, with the damage sustained to our Highway
Garage, repair of this primary building must take precedence. Funds
raised and donated to the Pavilion will remain in a dedicated account.
As soon as the highway building is completed, we can move ahead with
the park pavilion.
In this week’s History, Did you know the first Wilmington Town Hall was
next to the Whiteface Community United Methodist Church? The little
White building has served our community as a town hall, American
Legion and now a food pantry. This building is rich in Wilmington
history.
Like local history? Join us for our next bicentennial meeting on August
11 th at 12:30pm at the Wilmington Community Center. All are
welcomed.
That’s all for this week friends. See you around town. -Roy
