SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 8-2-24

SPECIAL EVENT AT THE WILMINGTON LIBRARY
I have shared a flyer from the Wilmington Town Library, which shows a special guest coming
this Saturday (August 3 rd ) to the summer reading and crafts program. I heard the guest is
connected to the Olympics!
BOTTLE DRIVE FOR WILMINGTON YOUTH COMMISSION
I have also shared a flyer from the Wilmington Youth Commission about the bottle drop. They
shared the following message: "A big thank you to everyone who has made generous returnable
donations to our programs thus far. You can find our bottle drop at the Town of Wilmington
Landfill".
ASSESSORS–VACANCIES
The Town of Wilmington has two open assessor positions. As you may know, Alphonso Smith
retired at the end of July after 40 years of being a town assessor. Fonzi’s years of effort and
experience are not easy to replace, but
If you are interested in becoming an assessor, the town board would like to hear from you. The
board can appoint a replacement assessor to fill in for the remainder of the assessor’s term (2024
and 2027, respectively). Thereafter, it is an elected position.
Please contact Dawn Stevens (townclerk@townofwilmington.org) with a statement of interest.
The sooner the better.
Thanks everyone.
